College Football Games of the Week - Oct. 5

Like many people, I love college football. However, unlike most people, I don't only care about how the top 25 does or even just the FBS.

The last several weeks, I have looked at the scores across ALL levels of football: FBS, FCS, DII, DIII, NAIA and NJCAA. While I have no idea who any of these teams are, you see some interesting scores.

This is the first of what I hope to make a weekly edition of "College Football Games of the Week."

Comeback of the Week
  • Charlotte over Gardner-Webb 53-51 (FCS)
    • Gardner-Webb led 45-24 after the first three quarters
    • Charlotte outscored Gardner-Webb 29-6 in the fourth quarter
    • Charlotte outscored Gardner-Webb 22-6 in final 5:20 of the game
    • Charlotte took a 53-45 lead on a 56-yard TD run with 2:19 left in the game
    • Gardner-Webb answered with a TD with 31 seconds left in regulation, but a 2-point conversion that would have tied the game failed
    • Charlotte gained 586 total offensive yards, Gardner-Webb gained 577 total offensive yards
